Summary

The Sensitive Tan is the bridge between the mental colors and the emotional colors. Their personalities are a subtle combination of the mental Tan qualities and the emotional Blue qualities.

Sensitive Tans incorporate the characteristics of mental, analytical logic with loving and intuitive compassion. These gentle personalities are quiet, sensitive and supportive. They prefer, like Logical Tans, to maintain a rational, intellectual foundation while they analytically process data.

Sensitive Tans are more emotional and intuitive than Logical Tans, but they tend to keep their feelings to themselves. When a problem arises, Sensitive Tans will retreat inside to figure out the most practical solution.

You and Your Personality Colors

Sensitive Tans combine the characteristics of mental, analytical logic with loving and intuitive compassion. These gentle personalities are quiet, sensitive, and supportive. They are patient enough to handle the details of running the home or office. They prefer, like all Tans, to maintain a rational, intellectual foundation while they analytically process data. They are more emotional and intuitive than Logical Tans, however. These loving personalities, although sensitive and emotional, are not quite as emotional as Blues. When facing conflict, they tend to remain rational and calm, and retreat inside to find a reasonable solution.

In power, Sensitive Tans are quiet, nurturing people who are sincere and patient listeners. They are extraordinarily unselfish and are delightfully modest hosts and hostesses. Sensitive Tans are service-oriented humanitarians who tend to put their families and their communities first.

Out of power, Sensitive Tans can struggle with over-analyzing their own inner feelings and intuition, which makes them feel that they cannot trust themselves. They can then become lost and full of self-doubt. They can be easily taken advantage of in this state of mind. And like all Tans, they can become shortsighted, narrow-minded, and stuck in habitual patterns.

Sensitive Tans value love, commitment, dedication, patient understanding, and good communication in their relationships. This is exactly what Sensitive Tans give to their mates – therefore, they want the same consideration. They want someone who will listen as well as talk with them, share the responsibilities of the home, and be reliable, trustworthy partners.

Your Life Purpose

A Tan’s life purpose appears to be to analyze, learn, and understand three-dimensional reality and then enjoy living a comfortable, secure and stable life. They are logical, methodical, reliable and responsible. Tans prefer and can be counted on to handle the details of a project. They are the personalities who can patiently take others’ ideas and theories and actually develop the technology, architectural plans, or end products. Tans have the ability to accomplish tasks that frustrate others.

Tans enjoy careers as engineers, architects, bookkeepers, scientists, mathematicians, computer programmers, librarians, court reporters, researchers, and technicians.

Relationships

These practical and down-to-earth personalities value long-term commitment. They need partners they can count on to be logical, devoted, and reliable. They prefer mates who can be content with and even appreciate a basic and secure lifestyle – not those who need extravagance or an outrageous and adventurous life. Tans usually are the ones who faithfully stay in marriages and jobs their entire lives. They work steadily and earn a reliable income so they can have a secure home environment, a healthy pension, and safe retirement plan. This way they can provide for their family and live comfortably for the rest of their lives. Tans are not risk takers or gamblers; they prefer partners who will share in a safe, sensible, and long-term committed partnership.

Careers & Jobs

Sensitive Tans prefer jobs in which they have the security of regular paychecks. They like jobs that can be both helpful and analytical. They are dedicated employees who work well with others. They prefer low-stress, slow-paced jobs in which they can easily know what is expected of them every day. Their responsibilities must be well defined and consistent from day to day. Chaos, last-minute deadlines, and panic can cause undue stress for Sensitive Tans. They are happier when there are no surprises in the workplace — just a well-planned, efficient, and calm environment.

Sensitive Tans enjoy working on details, such as balancing the books or programming computers, as long as they also have interaction with people. They have more patience to deal with repetition and details than most Life Colors.

If they become therapists, Sensitive Tans prefer their clients to be scheduled for long-term, regular visits. They believe the therapeutic healing process has multiple stages and can take a long time. (In addition, Sensitive Tans prefer the economic security of knowing their clients have committed to a regular, long-term schedule.) Because Sensitive Tans like to be in service for the good of the community, they will take jobs that require analyzing the community’s current situation and making plans to improve it — positions such as city planners or community service developers. Companies would do well to employ dedicated, hard-working Sensitive Tans, who are more than willing to take care of the mundane details of daily business.

Occupations that appeal to Sensitive Tans include the following:
Bookkeeper, Arbitrator, Receptionist, Judge, Secretary, Dentist, Office personnel, Hygienist, Accountant, Welfare, social worker, Therapist, Teacher, Educator, Counselor, Child care worker, City planner, Community service developer, Writer, Investigator, Career counselor, Public relations, School administrator, Principal, College recruiter, School advisor.

Money & Abundance

Money is important to Sensitive Tans only because it provides them and their families with security and stability. Sensitive Tans want enough money to pay the bills, buy decent clothes for their children, buy moderately priced yet comfortable furniture for their homes, and occasionally go out to dinner.

Sensitive Tans are very cautious with their money. They want savings accounts and safe investments. Not being gamblers or risk-takers, they feel more secure when they know they have nest eggs. They want money tucked away for the children’s college education or for family emergencies.

These Tans believe it takes time to build financial reserves. They don’t usually have the abundant financial assets that Greens have, nor do they have the outrageous number of debts that Greens usually have. Greens can risk a lot of money to make a lot of money. Sensitive Tans prefer the quiet security of building their financial foundations slowly and steadily.

Sensitive Tans frequently take positions such as secretaries, bookkeepers, clerks, and receptionists – jobs in which the income can be steady, but not always high paying. Often Sensitive Tans have discontinued their education to raise families. When returning to the workforce, many take jobs that do not require a college education and typically do not pay well.

Success
Sensitive Tans’ priorities are serving their families and their communities with love and integrity. They prefer to deal with life in a calm, rational, and sensitive manner. If they feel they are providing their families with love and security, teaching goodness and compassion to those around them, and contributing positively to society by serving their communities, they feel they are living successful lives.

Health

A common health problem for Sensitive Tans is with their eyesight. Like all Tans, they tend to focus on details, which can cause eyestrain. Sensitive Tans can take on the same health problems that affect Logical Tans and Blues. These composed individuals tend to stay healthier than the other Life Colors, however, because they have the sense to eat properly and stay calmer and consequently less stressed.

Like Blues, Sensitive Tans are not exercising fanatics. They do have the common sense however, to know that the human body needs exercise, so they are more likely to exercise than Blues are. There is enough of the Blue aspect in their personalities, however, to keep their exercise schedule erratic. They start out with a schedule then shift into exercising only when they feel like it.

To remain healthy, Sensitive Tans need only to maintain their common sense, eat healthy foods, stay calm (without suppressing their emotions), and exercise regularly. They can also follow the advice given to Blues and Logical Tans.
